April 28, 2013 - April 30, 2014 UA industrial Wage Summary
March 28, 2013
The anniversary for our Industrial agreement is coming up soon.
Effective April 28, 2013 there will be a 3% increase applied to the total Industrial Agreement pay package. In the contract we had negotiated an increase of CPI (Consumer Price Index) + 1% or 3% whichever was greater. In 2012 the CPI for Saskatchewan was 1.6% which means 3% is greater than CPI + 1% and thus we will be receiving a 3% wage increase. For those wishing to find out more information about the CPI for Saskatchewan, how it is calculated or what the amounts have been in the past you can visit http://www.stats.gov.sk.ca/cpi/
The wage increase was applied by increasing pension $0.30 from $6.20 to $6.50 per hour and increasing the wage for Journeyman by $1.25 per hour applied proportionately to hourly wage, holiday and vacation pay. A pdf is attached with the updated Industrial Wage Summary effective April 28, 2013. This attached wage summary is in effect until April 30, 2014 after which time we will need to negotiate a new collective agreement.
