The United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada (“United Association” or “UA”) has adopted a maternity disability benefit, effective November 1, 2022.  This new benefit will provide short-term disability payments to UA members in good standing who give birth to a child on or after November 1, 2022.  The disability benefit will be $500/week up to no more than six (6) weeks (maximum benefit of $3,000 per birth).  The benefits will be funded by the UA’s general assets and will be administered out of the UA General Secretary-Treasurer’s office.  Please check out the following link  www.uacanada.ca/wellness.
