Ralph Alexander Burke Obituary

July 15, 1952  -  October 11, 2025

Ralph Alexander Burke of Outlook, SK, passed away at the Outlook & District Health Centre due to complications from cancer.

He is survived by his sons Dustin Burke and Ryley Pederson and his children; granddaughter Justine (Brayden) Connor (née Ogilvie) and great grandsons Paxton and Barrett Connor; granddaughter Bailey (Ryley) Cozart (née Ogilvie) and great granddaughter Calli Cozart; grandson C.J. (Kiya) Ogilvie; brother Dennis (Margaret) Burke and nephew Joshua Burke; nephew Ken Boyer, great niece Krysta Boyer and great nephew Miles Boyer; and son in law Clay (Jamie) Ogilvie.

He was predeceased by his parents, Alex and Mary Burke (née Kolodziejsky), sister Shirley Boyer, brother-in-law Don Boyer, daughter Jodie Ogilive, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins, including his aunt Vicky Tuttosi (née Kolodziejsky) and first cousin Tony Burkesty, both formerly of Outlook, SK.

Ralph was raised in Broderick and Outlook, SK, and spent his teen years employed by his father’s business and playing sports as he was considered a good athlete. After high school in 1970, he married, started a family, and relocated to the Northwest Territories to apprentice as a journeyman welder in the mining industry.

In 1974, he returned to his small farm near Outlook, SK, in the newly formed irrigation district and spent the next 50-plus years growing grain crops, raising cattle, and working seasonally as a welder in the mining and energy industries. Although he largely retired from raising cattle and welding in recent years, he harvested his last grain crop only weeks before his passing. Ralph was very sociable and had many lifelong friends.

A Celebration of Ralph’s Life will be held in the spring of 2026, when family and friends can gather together to honor his memory. Details will be announced once arrangements are finalized.
